Thanks for this Carol. I’ve been on my self-hosted wordpress blog for nearly a year and was considering saving some dough and moving to a free blog, but you just explained to me all the things I will lose that I never even realized. Besides that, I love having creative control over my wordpress blog.

I found you from the comments on the Voodoo Cafe comments, now I’m off to dig deeper into your blog.
