Ta DAAAAAAAAAAA!

The Art2Mail Title Challenge is officially unveiled!

“Title challenge?” you ask?

Robbi Eklow started it. (Why is that not surprising to anyone who knows Robbi?) Some time ago, she had claimed the title of “Goddess of the Last Minute,” and started using that a year or so ago in her column for Quilting Arts Magazine.

One day last summer, someone on the Art2Mail list claimed a title — perhaps something like “Princess of Procrastination” — and began using it to sign her posts. This sparked a lively discussion in which most of us came up with successfully more outlandish and hilarious titles for ourselves.

Liz Nutter threw down the gauntlet — why not have a formal challenge and defend our titles in fabric?

So here is mine. You have to go check out the rest — but only once you have done here.

Carol Logan Newbill: Untitled (Web Wizard)When we were choosing our titles in 2004, I could not decide which of the many hats I wear every day to call the One That Is My Own. I chose to remain, instead, Untitled.

For the challenge, I planned a small quilt that would incorporate panels for a number of those roles. The problem was that every time I tried to start to work on the other panels, a crisis would arise and Id have to drop everything to go write some code and fix a website.

Untitled (Web Wizard) Detail: HTML codeIt became very apparent that the Web Wizard was jealous of the Artist and the Teacher and the Writer, and staged a coup to claim the entire title.

Okay, I give. You can call me the Web Wizard.

But only on Fridays.
